Marlie Turns 11

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARLIE !!!
Our girl is 11 now! She is growing up and I wish I could slow down time. I asked her what she wanted for her birthday and she said she wanted to get a manicure. I took her to get a manicure and she thought it was so fun. (I got one too!) She loves having girl time, just the two of us. We went and saw "Confessions of a Shopaholic" , it was a good chic-flick. Marlie is happy, fun girl and we are so proud of her.
Happy Birthday Meems, we love you!!
We made a catapillar cake with 11 cupcakes.

Wolverine Obsession

Connor is a lover of all things Superhero but lately his obsession has been with Wolverine. It's actually been going on for months now but he is getting pretty creative coming up with ways to create the claws. These pictures show just a couple of times that I found to be pretty humorous, spaghetti and licorice. Some of the other "claws" he has come up with are toothpicks, markers, crayons, chalk, straws and more, I'm sure, but that's all I can come up with right now. Whenever he draws he of course draws Wolverine, even in Primary when he is supposed to be drawing something else. He can write the word Wolverine without any help spelling it because he has it memorized. At almost any time of the day you can hear him somewhere in the house or yard making the tinging sound of metal retracting claws, "tching, tching". He keeps telling me he wants to see X-men origins : Wolverine and that is just not going to happen. I heard it isn't any worse than the Spiderman movies but it IS PG-13 so he won't be seeing it if I have anything to do with it. He'll never give up trying though. He is sooooooo CUTE!!!!!

My May Get-away

I was lucky enough to get away again for my May girlfriend trip! We had a great time! I love these friends so much and it so fun to spend time with them. It makes me feel so good that they drop everything for a few days to spend time with me. I stayed with Melinda except for the night that we stay down in Monterey. Staying at her house is like being in a 5 star resort, it is so beautiful, quiet and clean.... A total change of scenery for me!! The weather was overcast and cold the whole time I was in CA ! kind of unusual for May. I didn't get as many photos on this trip but we still had a great time.

This is the best picture of us so that's why it is first!
This is at the Legion of Honor Museum in San Fransisco.
We stopped at a cherry stand on our way down to the penninsula. There are always fresh fruit stands along this stretch of hiway. We wanted to find strawberries but didn't have any luck for some weird reason, since it is still the middle of Strawberry season.

This is us in front of the candy store in Carmel that we always stop at.

Melinda and I were the parking space savers! We were being so goofy while we were saving the parking places. People probably thought we were drunk or something! We weren't acting our age that's for sure.
Melinda is holding our bakery stash. We made a bakery run before we went back to our room to play hours of 5 crowns.
This is the beach right outside our room in Monterey. This place was awesome! We were so lucky to find a vacancy here. We walked on the beach in the morning but it was pretty cold so we didn't stay long. On a sunny day this beach would be heaven!

Me and Melinda on our morning walk. Don't we look lovely?

We had to take our usual flower pictures in Carmel. The flowers there are so beautiful, it must be from the ocean air. This is at the museum in San Fransisco. We went to a concert there and then we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner.
Thank you to my girls! It was a great trip and I loved every minute I spent with them!

Perfect Couple Shoot

Blaine and Lindsey
I got a lucky break when I got to take engagement photos for this couple! They are a photographers dream! They are both soooo gorgeous. It was the most fun I have ever had doing a photo shoot. They are not only beautiful on the outside but also such nice people. He was our home teacher for a few months when he got home from his mission. We were all very impressed with him, especially Keaton. Sorry I posted so many shots, I have a hard time chosing my favorites. There are about 70 more that aren't posted!!

Keaton's Spring Concert

Keaton's show choir had their spring concert this week. It was really good, I was so proud of him and all of the kids, they did a great job. The theme for the show was Movie Musicals. They did songs from MGM Movie medley, Thoroughly Modern Milly, and Hairspray. Keaton had a duet in Singing in the Rain. He did so good! It was pretty much a solo because the other kid wasn't loud enough. He was a "mother" in the Hairspray song. You can see in the picture that he wasn't too happy about his costume! It was so cute though, they were so funny. I'm so glad that Keaton is brave enough to try new things. He was worried about looking like a geek when he tried out to be in show choir. He didn't think it was the coolest thing to do. He really likes it though and I'm proud of him for being his own person and not just following his crowd of friends.
