Spring Break in Idaho 2009

We took a trip to Idaho for the kids spring break. We stayed in Ogden one night on our way up. We went to the Hill Air Force Museum after we finished our visit to the dinosaur park. We have went there before and we love it! It is such a cool place. Keaton especially loves this museum. He loves military equipment of any kind. He has always had a facination since he was little with any type of big vehicles. We didn't get to stay very long because it was closing so Keaton was a little disappointed. He could spend all day there!

The first day in Idaho we went to Idaho Falls. We went to the falls by the temple to feed the ducks. This has become sort of a spring break tradition for us. After feeding the ducks we went to the Idaho Natural History Museum to see the Titanic exhibit. I was pretty excited because I have wanted to see a Titanic exhibit for long time. Unfortunately the kids weren't as excited! They were pretty bored, I guess they are too young to understand how interesting it is. It was hard to enjoy it with the kids in tow but I still thought it was pretty neat. I could have spent a lot more time there.

One of the highlight of the trip, for the kids. was going four wheeling. My sister and her husband have 4-wheelers and they were nice enough to take the kids out riding for awhile on Sat. Keaton's whole motivation for going to Idaho was to possibly have a chance to ride! he LOVES 4-wheeling! That is all I hear about! He wants a four wheeler so bad and is always trying to scheme up ways to save money to buy one some day. For now he'll have to have his fun riding with cousins and friends!

Eccles Dianosaur Park

The first stop on our spring break trip was in Ogden. We stayed the night in a condo at Wolf Creek. It was a really nice condo and we enjoyed the compfy atmosphere there. It was cold and snowy so we turned on the fireplace and had hot chocolate. The next morning we went to the dinosaur park. We had never been there before and it was pretty fun for the kids. We pretty much had the park to ourselves, I guess nobody else was willing to chance getting rained on. We made it back inside to the museum part just in time! It started raining just as we were finishing the outside exhibits.

Keaton's 14th Birthday

Keaton turned 14 last week. He wanted to go ice skating with his friends so that's what he did that day. I took them to The Peaks Arena, an indoor skating rink (where the some of the olympic events were in 2002). Before they went skating I took them to Arby's to get dinner. I know what you are thinking, "Oh, cheap dinner" well that's what I thought too until 4 teenage boys ordered and the total was $33.00. I guess it could have been more somewhere else but I'm not used to spending that much at a fast food place. After they went skating for a couple of hours I picked them up and we went to Baskin Robbins on the way home. Since he was with his friends all evening we waited until we went to Idaho for spring break to have his family party. He did get one of his presents a couple of days before his birthday. He wanted a mountain bike. He and Bryce went and looked at some used ones at a bike shop and found one he liked. Even a good used bike isn't cheap so that was about all he got this year. The older kids get the more expensive they get! Now that he's a teenager he is getting a strong opinion about what is "cool" and what isn't. He is also learning that he gets to help pay for things if they are out of mom and dads acceptable price range. Usually that keeps his feet on the ground!

Keaton, Caden, Ryan and Devin at the ice skating arena.Grandma and Grandpa Johnson gave Keaton golf clubs for his birthday. He was so surprised and so excited. Grandpa and Grandma are big golfers and their love for golf has started to rub off on Keaton. When I think about it all I see is $$$$.

Easter Sunday 2009

The Easter bunny delivered a Wolverine Claw for Connor. He was in heaven and it has become a permanent part of his arm now.
Connor didn't want a haircut, he wanted "Wolverine Hair". So I did my best to give him his wish! Bad move on my part, then he REALLY didn't want a haircut.
We had an egg hunt at Grandma Hancock's house with some of the cousins. Top: Jordyn, Marlie, and Keaton. Bottom: Cambree, Brinley, Jace and Connor.

Marlie found the golden egg!
