GARDEN HARVEST

Today I picked some of the things that were ready in the garden. It was so fun! I haven't ever grown potatoes and it was fun to dig those up and see that they actually had grown. I love this time of year when you get to enjoy all of the fruits and vegetables that you have been taking care of for months. Our apples will be ready in a week or two. I am going to try canning them. I hope it's worth it. I made plum jam today and it took a lot of time to pit the plums because they were so small. I decided that one batch of that will be enough.

The Johnson Kids

These are the latest photos I took of my neice and nephews. They did not want to do pictures. I think they turned out pretty good considering the mood they were in!

Another Day with Connor, The Destroyer

Wolverine

The Hulk (see the muscles?)

The Hulk and black Spiderman (see the web?)

I have to write about the day we had today with Connor! If I don't write down some of these daily shinanigans I might forget about them. Hard to imagine right now but I know my memory and it's only getting worse! Now keep in mind these are only the more significant naughty things I am writing about. There are many others throughout the course of the day that didn't make the top of the list. Okay, here we go... Connor insisted on having animal cookies for breakfast. After a half an hour of stubborness I finally caved and told him he could have "a few" if he ate toast too. So I went up to take a shower. When I came back downstairs he had crushed animal cookies all over the carpet. He also took about 15 dvds out of their cases and scattered those around. Moving along... time to get dressed. He didn't want to take off the new Superman underoos. I finally convinced him that they were really underwear and that he could wear them "under" his clothes. Next I heard the kitty meowing and asked Connor where she was. He said, "in the bathroom" . I told him to let her out. She came out soaking wet! like a little drowned rat. I asked Connor what he did to her and he said, "I wanted to clean her". After I few more questions I got the whole story. He put her in the toilet, after he sprayed her with Windex and bathroom cleaner. Sad huh? poor kitty, lucky he didn't kill her! So as I was upstairs blow drying the kitty Connor had already moved on to his next mess. He dumped a glass of water on the kitchen table and took markers and made water paint. Then he splashed it everywhere ! He was covered in ink. So the final straw that broke the mama camel's back was a chocolate milk disaster. Keaton noticed that the train table and train set and the wall were covered in a film of dried, gooey chocolate milk. I had a lot of fun for the next hour cleaning all of the little peices. i should have taken pictures of all of these things for proof, but I didn't think of it. Besides I don't want to give him too much attention for the naught things! He loves drawing lately and he is pretty good for a three year old. I did take pictures of some of his super hero drawings. See if you can recognize which superhero's they are.

HAPPY 50th ANNIVERSARY LARRY AND BARBARA!!

We had a celebration for Larry and Barbara (Bryce's parents) for their 50th wedding anniversary. We had an open house at their church. Lynnette, Bryce's oldest sister did most of the planning and a lot of work to put it together. I did the table center pieces and helped with the picture displays. I also helped her with some of the food. She did a great job with the food. She made 3 different sandwiches on rolls, egg salad, crab salad and chicken salad. They all were really good. We also had fruit and vegetable trays, tortilla roll-ups and cake. There was a good turn-out and I know Larry and Barbara had a lot of fun visiting with many old friends. Many of the friends from their Cupertino ward came and it was fun for them to see them again. Being married for 50 years is a big accomplishment. I am happy that I have their example to follow. They are wonderful people and perfect in-laws. I can't think of anything negative to say about them. I hit the jackpot in the in-law catagory!!

OUR NEWEST ADDITION

We added a new member of the household last week. She is a really cute, playful kitten. She has been a very good girl to go in her litter box too! Thank goodness! We don't have a name for her yet, any suggestions? Our big orange cat, Rusty, disappeared a couple of weeks ago. We had him for 3 years. He was the best cat. He was so human-like the way he communicated with us. We are going to miss him. I wish I knew what happened to him.

OH DEER !!!!!

BEFORE
AFTER
Our drive to Idaho turned out to be a 7 hour disaster! We left Heber at 9:30 p.m. We thought we would get to Blackfoot by 12:30 or 1:00. HA!! First we were stuck on traffic in Parley's canyon for an hour. Then we got to about Farmington and got behind an accident. So we sat on the freeway for about an hour, with the car turned off. We watched life flight land on the freeway right in front of us. So we finally got going and about 20 miles down the road, by Tremonton we hit a deer! It was so dark and by the time we saw it it was too late. We were so lucky that we weren't injured. It was a big deer! So after we assessed the damages we decided that it looked drivable so we continued on! We got to Blackfoot at 3:45 a.m. What a Day!!!!!

HANCOCK REUNION 2008

We had a great time at our Hancock reunion! It was so fun to have everyone together and spend time with everyone. Everyone is in this picture exept Ryan's wife, Cori, Kyle and Lynnette and Doug's son Layne who is serving a mission.
The reunion was in Heber. We stayed at a campground. It was actually more fun than I thought it was going to be. We slept good in our tent. Of course I had an air mattress and I was really comfortable. Connor stayed in the tent with Bryce and me. Keaton and Jace shared a tent and Marlie stayed in Lynnette's family tent. I love cooking breakfast when we are camping. For some reason it tastes better when you are outside and in the mountains. The first night when we got to the campground we set up our camps and had a hotdog roast and smores.

The next day we went to Deer Creek Reservoir. We had a great time! The kids played in the water most of the day. They didn't seem to mind the rocks and mudd. They even said it wasn't too cold after they got used to it. Sarah, Missy and I hung out down by the water and visited while we watched the kids. I'm glad we got that chance to talk, it was the only time we really had a chance because the kids were all busy playing. In between swims the kids did some crafts that Lynnette brought for them to do. They loved painting! Thanks Aunt Lynnette. We all made dinner together there too. We made Frito pie tacos. That evening we went into Heber City and walked around the farmer's market. There was a band playing in the park and different vendors. We went over to the Dairy Keen and got ice cream before heading back to the campground.

Beautiful Cambree !!

The last day of the reunion we cleaned up our campsites and spent the afternoon at the park in Heber. We had lunch there and played games. We had an egg toss and a water balloon toss. Some people played volleyball and frisbee and tossed a football. The younger kids liked playing on the swings and slides. Bryce's cousin Larry and his family joined us for the day. It was so fun seeing Tifani and their family. They live in Washington, which is just too far away! The last thing we did all together was ride the Heber Creeper Train. It was a dinner train ride and a hoe down. We ate dinner on the train. It was a dutch oven dinner. The train stopped at Soldier Hollow and we had a hoe down. There was a live band and a dance instructor that taught us how to do some square dances. It was a lot of fun. Even the younger kids wanted to try it. The whole reunion was so much fun! I'm already looking forward to the next on in two years!
