Field Trip to the Zoo

Jace had a field trip with all of the 1st Graders to Hogle Zoo this week. I went along to help chaparone. Katie (sis-in-law), Kimball and Jacob came with me. It was a beautiful fall day, the weather was perfect! I think the kids all had a lot of fun. It was Connor's first time at the zoo. When I told him we were going to go to the zoo and he said "What is zoo?" HELLO !! What kind of mother am I? My 4 yr. old doesn't know what a zoo is? I was so shocked. I don't know how this oversight happened. So anyway, Connor loved it. I think his favorite part was the snakes. Jace was interested in all of it. He liked the monkeys a lot and anything else that was "cute".

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAKEY!!!

Jacob is my beautiful nephew. Okay I guess I should say handsome because beautiful might sound fem, but he really is beautiful ! I just want to eat him, he's so cute. We got to help celebrate his 1st birthday this week. We went to the park and Scott (my brother) BBQed for us. Katie (sis-in-law) made really yummy cupcakes. It was so funny watching Jacob tear into his first cupcake! The kids had a blast running around and playing. They even got to play a game of kickball with the dads. We love you Jakey!

KEATON'S LATEST PICTURES

It's hard to believe a whole year has gone by since I did Keaton's pictures! He has turned into a full-blown teenager now. Attitude and acne ! There is a train that runs along the freeway and it has been parked on the tracks for a couple of weeks. All of the cars are white with very artistic grafitti all over them. I thought it would be a cool place to try some pictures. I think they turned out pretty good. Keaton and I had fun taking them which is really the most important thing to me. We had fun climbing on the trains and exploring. I really love having one-on-one time with each of my kids. They can really be themselves when the siblings aren't around to compete with and fight with. They like going with me to do their pictures. I don't think it is because they love to have their picture taken as much as it is the attention they get from me without anyone else to interupt. Anyhoo.... sorry if I am rambling. Keaton is so handsome and a wonderful son. I love him!

Hancock Kids Sept. 2008

Sunday we went out in some of the fields by our house and took some new pictures of the kids. They turned out okay, not what I was hoping for though. I get an idea in my mind of how I want them to be and sometimes I have a hard time pulling it off. We'll try again soon, I'm sure. I know the kids are going to LOVE hearing me say that! They are good sports letting me practice on them!

OUR SUPERHERO TURNS 4!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNOR!!!

Our baby turned 4! It's hard to see your baby getting bigger and bigger. I miss being able to pick him up and cuddle him. I can still cuddle with him I just can't lift him!

Connor's passion in life is Superheros. So of course we had to have a superhero birthday party! It was too hard to choose one, Batman, Hulk, Superman, Wolverine, etc. so we did ALL of them! We invited six other "superheros". Gabe, Dustin, Ryan, Drew, Kimball and Cameron. I was crazy enough to sew a cape for each of them. I figure I won't have too many more chances to do a "crazy mom" birthday party. So they each had their own cape and mask. They looked soooo cute! They loved wearing them and "flying" around. It was so fun to watch them play. It was fun watching them eat cupcakes too!

We had a family party for Connor too. The cake turned out to be a disaster! Luckily I took a picture of it before it collapsed and fell apart! Connor's favorite present he got from us was a Batman costume. He loves wearing any type of superhero dress-up costume. We like to stretch birthday's out at our house so a few days later we

went to Cold Stone to get his birthday icecream! It's hard to believe he's 4 already.

BACK TO SCHOOL!!

I'm a little slow with this post. School started a week and half ago. I always say that the first day of school is the best day of the year! I guess that makes me sound like a bad mom doesn't it? Well the kids are happy to get back to school too, it was along enough summer for everyone. Keaton started 8th grade. You can see in the picture that he is getting too cool for mom to take a picture on the first day of school, too bad. Marlie is in 5th grade and Jace is in 1st grade. Jace tells me everyday that school is too long! It's a big adjustment going ot school all day! He likes to take his lunch. He came home the second day of school almost in tears and said that a kid told him he was fat. The kid told him that he was fat because he was eating school lunch and school lunch has too much fat and is bad for you. He said the kid was eating celery! Sounds pre-annorexic to me, or an annorexic mom. I told him if he says that again to tell him it's not fat, it's all muscle! That put a smile back on his face.
